Adrian asleep in the cockpit.  In this closer view you can see the reading half-glasses he wore on watch, particularly at night.  
Despite only occasional use or reading glasses on-shore, he found that side-effects from his scopolamine anti sea-sickness patch, 
coupled with messed up sleep patterns due to the watch schedule meant he needed them to read the small print on the radar and GPS displays.  
The auto pilot's dim red display was hard to read at night even with them on. 
The dayglow orange item behind him is the flotation strap for a pair of binoculars.

The other picture is just to prove he didn't sleep ALL the time!
